HUMANMEDITEK Co., Ltd., aiming 40% of world sterilizer market
There is a company manufacturing plasma sterilizer with pure domestic technology for the first time domestically and the second in the world, ‘HMTS-80’, developed by HUMANMEDITEK Co., Ltd. (CEO Jung-Suek Ko) is a environment-friendly plasma sterilizer following Johnson & Johnson Medical.
HMTS-80, which can be used for sterilizing hospital supplies such as surgery tools and microscopes completely, adopted plasma method to use maximum 20 times a day comparing to existing EtO (sterilizing gas) sterilizer which can be used only one time a day.
The company said the sterilization process is completed in an hour, so there is no need to prepare several surgery tool sets and this increases the turnover ratio of medical instrument. Also because hydrogen peroxide is used for sterilization agent, very small amount of oxygen and steam is discharged to make it safe to human body and environment.
Currently the dependency ratio on imports of medical instruments is about 72%, while the dependency ratio of plasma sterilizer is 100%. Considering this market situation, if HMTS-80 is supplied to hospitals with more than 400 beds, HUMANMEDITEK expects there will be 70 to 80 billion won of import substitution effect. Also it is planning to export the products worth of 72 billion won to Europe and Middle East Asia as well as Asia to acquire 40% of plasma sterilizer market share in the world.
Based on the characteristics of plasma sterilizer seeking high safety, if it is successful, HUMANMEDITEK is expected to generate 50~100 billion won sales revenue annually.
